There was a huge amount of activity around the Kokomo Rescue Mission on Saturday morning where the 11th Annual Walk a Mile in My Shoes walkers took to the path. Well over 1,000 walkers teamed up to shatter this year’s goal of $100,000. The walkers together with the corporate sponsorships brought the total amount raised to just over $131,000!!

Governor Daniels Wont Testify Against IBM

The Indiana Supreme Court ruled Monday that Governor Daniels cannot be forced to testify over the state's canceled contract with IBM. Daniels canceled a state contract with IBM to process welfare applications. The contract was worth nearly $1.4 billion. A trial court granted a motion to force the governor to testify back in December 2011. The Supreme Court ruled to reverse the motion because it violates a section of Indiana's code which exempts the governor from facing subpoenas.

State health officials now say the number of confirmed measles cases in central Indiana is up to ten. Last week, the Indiana State Department of Health reported that one of the measles patients was downtown for Super Bowl events. It was determined that the person visited The Huddle on Feb. 3. The Huddle was an indoor area of shops and restaurants where the former Nordstrom's was located. Officials say all of the cases are in Boone and Hamilton Counties and involve children and adults. Additional cases are being investigated and the Indiana State Department of Health will continue to provide information as it becomes available. The Indiana State Department of Health is working with local health departments and health care providers to identify additional cases of measles, and to prevent further transmission of the disease.

Alcohol Immunity

Alcohol immunity is a hot topic on college campuses these days and now it's being discussed at the Indiana Statehouse. A bill granting immunity for certain offenses is one vote away from possibly being signed into law. IU and Purdue already have policies in place dealing with immunity. The goal now is to take it off campus to police stations. The bill is currently being heard in the House, where it's up for a third read Tuesday.

Mayor Greg Goodnight will host his first “Mayor’s Night Out” event to meet with local residents, on Wednesday, February 22nd, from 5:00 – 6:00 pm. The meeting will take place inside the Knight of Columbus meeting hall, which is located in Timber Valley at 1631 Foxfire Lane. Kokomo residents are invited to attend and address concerns and make suggestions for improving our community. In addition to the Mayor, city department heads will also be available to answer questions. The meeting will be the first of at least four “Mayor’s Night Out” events Mayor Goodnight will host in 2012. The public meetings are held at different locations throughout the city to encourage residents to conveniently meet with the Mayor.

For the first time, the City of Kokomo will host the Indiana program which attracts young ladies from across the state. “I am extremely proud of our local organizers for bringing this extraordinary event to Kokomo,” said Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight. “We hope to make an impression and establish Kokomo as the permanent host city.” The public is invited to the preliminary competitions that will take place in three phases at the Kokomo High School auditorium, 2501 S. Berkley Rd. The first preliminary begins at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, February 23rd; the second preliminary begins at 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 24th.

Howard County Science Fair

The Kokomo area’s young scientists will compete in the annual Howard County Science Fair this Saturday thanks to a partnership between Indiana University Kokomo and Haynes International.
The executive vice chancellor for academic affairs said the science fair promotes careers in the sciences, and having it at IU Kokomo gives students an opportunity to see the university’s outstanding science department.
“Emily Bargerhuff, who represents Haynes International on the science fair board, said the event could not happen without IU Kokomo’s involvement. The university provides a place to have the fair and awards program, along with judges and other resources.
She said Marcia Gillette, IU Kokomo senior lecturer in chemistry, brought the fair to campus about 10 years ago, when it was in danger of cancellation due to lack of a venue.

Occupy Protesters Plead Not Guility to Howard County Charges

Two Occupy protesters arrested during a December rally at the Howard County Courthouse pleaded not guilty Monday to misdemeanor charges from the incident.

38 year old Darren Vincent and 52 year old Gregory Lambert, both from Indianapolis, have bench trials scheduled for May 30th in Howard County Superior Court 3. The Howard County prosecutor’s office charged Vincent and Lambert with resisting law enforcement, a class A misdemeanor. According to court records, Vincent also faces a charge of false informing, a class B misdemeanor, because he originally identified himself as Darren Burke to sheriff department staff after his arrest. The two men were arrested during a rally that began outside the courthouse.

Indiana's ballot rules are vexing two candidates hoping to be on the May primary ballot, but supporters of the requirements say they prevent problems that have occurred in other states. Indiana requires candidates for statewide and national office to collect 500 signatures from each of the state's nine congressional districts. Supporters say the rules prevent less-serious candidates from making it onto the ballot. Former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum and Fishers businessman Jim Wallace both have been told they fell short of the signatures needed in the 7th Congressional District to appear on the GOP ballots for president and governor.

The small city of tents at Lucas Oil Stadium are being removed, traffic and people are moving again on Georgia Street and the zipline that carried thousands is but a memory. The crowds, music, fans, the famous and the infamous are gone.
The city of Indianapolis, after being on the international stage, is being returned to those that call it home. It took more than three weeks to get the city of Indianapolis Super Bowl-ready. It will take at least that long to get all of the 70-plus tents packed up, signs taken down and debris left behind cleaned up for the city to get back to normal

Properties Offered in Online Auction

Howard County is offering deep reductions on properties that have past-due real estate taxes. Howard County will conduct a certificate sale on 455 properties during a live and online auction. The live auction is set for April 3 and the online auction will run from April 5-15. Treasurer Martha Lake said the certificate sale list started with 520 properties, but the city of Kokomo requested that 65 properties be removed from the list, including the Continental Steel site. A list of the properties available through the certificate sale is on the Howard County website and the SRI Inc. website, the company conducting the sale.

The Region 4 Workforce Board last week unveiled “Advanced Manufacturing: We Have Jobs Here, We Have Training Here.” Employers can post position openings on the campaign’s website, www.advancingmanufacturing.com, which had about 300 jobs listed on Friday. The program then screens candidates for basic criteria, such as education levels and previous work experience. Employers provide lists of specific qualifications they are seeking, said Robert Feldhaus, CEO of Region 4.“We will work with the employer to screen, to whittle down from a large number of applicants to a manageable number of candidates,” Feldhaus said. Those who do not meet criteria can participate in training and certification programs. Ivy Tech Corporate College is offering eight-week Certified Production Technician training.

Police Looking for Missing Woman in Landfill

Kokomo police are searching a Wabash County landfill in hopes of finding Kelly Armstrong who has been missing since last July. The missing person case involving Armstrong heated up recently when Kokomo police say Armstrong’s boyfriend, Travis Funke, confessed to police that he killed the woman and dumped her body in a landfill in Wabash County. Police have not filed any charges against Funke in the case because they have not found Armstrong’s body. Funke remains behind bars on unrelated charges. KPD Capt. Teresa Galloway said Saturday that officers have searched the Wabash landfill four times and are expected to continue the search this week. Armstrong’s family reported the 27-year-old woman missing in September, but has not seen her since July, according to police.

Discovery of Human Remains In Grant County Leads To Questions

Law Enforcement officials are left with more questions after the discovery of human remains last Thursday along the Mississinewa River in Grant County. While officials cannot confirm the identity, family members believe it is Dorothy Heard.

On June 13th, just one day after her granddaughter was reported abducted, 74 year old Dorothy Heard was reported missing from her Noblesville home. The girl was later released unharmed. Donald L. Burns, Heard’s nephew, was named as a person of interest in her disappearance. On June 13th, she had left a note saying that she and Burns were visiting family graves in Wabash. Burns later used Heard's credit card twice and pawned a ring that also belonged to her. He has since been found guilty of several crimes including child molestation. He also frequently fished in the area the human remains were found in.

Polar Plungers Raise $20,000 For Special Olympics

Ten teams of more than 100 brave souls, braved the elements on Saturday, to raise money for Special Olympics.

More than 20 thousand dollars was raised at the Kokomo Annual Polar Plunge. The event took place Saturday at Crossroads Community Church. The plungers, some in bathing suits and some in costume, participated in opening ceremonies and breakfast before walking out into the snow with temperatures in the teens, and then wading into a partically ice covered pond near the church. For safety's sake, members of the Howard County Sheriff Department dive team had surrounds a small, roped off section of the pond for the plungers.

Walk a Mile in My Shoes

Kokomo Rescue Mission's (KRM) annual winter walk, Walk a Mile in My Shoes, is this Saturday, Feb. 11th. Walkers will walk a total of one mile, which is a round trip from KRM Headquarters to Open Arms, the mission's shelter for homeless women and children, between 8 am – 10:30am. Each walker receives a free t-shirt.
Walkers raise at least $50 each and teams may have up to 20 walkers. Walk revenue comes from corporate and individual sponsors. Walkers solicit donations to sponsor their participation. The 2011 Walk raised $103,712. The Golden Sneaker Trophy is awarded to the top fundraising team. 2011's winner was Rossville Bible Fellowship, raising $7,109.79 The Silver Slipper for the 2nd place fundraising team was awarded to "Our Team" for raising $4,849.79 and Bronze Baby Bootie for the 3rd place fundraising team was earned by Grace United Methodist Church which raised $3,675.95.

Internal investigation records now paint a picture of more than one feud taking place backstage moments before the rigging collapsed at the State Fairgrounds last August.
On Thursday, the Indiana State Fair Commission paid a $6,300 fine for workplace violations related to the collapse that killed seven people.
The report reveals the State Fair's executive director and other officials took part in an emergency exercise a month before the collapse that rehearsed nearly the exact same weather conditions that occurred the night of the collapse.

Noblesville police say they don't know whether human remains found in Grant County are that of a woman who has been missing since June.
Lt. Bruce Barnes said officers had been searching along a county road north of Marion for four days. The investigators had been following leads in the case of Dorothy Heard, a 74-year-old Noblesville woman who was reported missing June 13, 2011. Acting on a tip, investigators had been looking at a wooded area when they discovered the remains Thursday.

No Child Left Behind Waiver

President Barack Obama exempted the Hoosier state and nine others from a federal mandate aimed at improving public schools . A new state "A through F" grading system will replace the federal report cards. The law requires all students to be proficient in reading and math by 2014. Obama's action strips away that requirement in exchange for a viable substitute plan.

Local officials are looking to implement a short-term solution instead of expanding the Howard County jail due to the increaseing number of female inmates. The Howard County commissioners approved Monday a contract with DLZ Architects to move forward with the design and specifications to convert an indoor recreation area to an open dormitory that can house up to 36 inmates. Sheriff Steve Rogers said of the 319 inmates at the jail on Monday, 77 were women. He said the county was housing 16 of the female prisoners at the Miami County jail.

State health officials have confirmed two cases of measles in Hamilton County and have identified an additional two probable measles cases in Boone County. The Indiana State Department of Health is working with local health departments and health care providers to identify additional cases of measles, and to prevent further transmission of the disease. One of the infected individuals visited the Super Bowl festivities in downtown Indianapolis on Friday, February 3, but health officials report the individual did not go into the NFL Experience at the Indiana Convention Center. Since these events included visitors from other states, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has been notified. State health officials are also working with health officials in New York and Massachusetts.

Kokomo Police Still Looking For Dark Colored SUV

Kokomo police are still asking for the public's help in locating a dark colored SUV that was seen leaving the scene of a shooting that took place on January 29th. Major Brian Seldon says the shooting happened in the 100 Block of East Mulberry early on that Sunday morning.

That shooting left 23 year old Taurean Jones with a gunshot wound to the head. A 17 year old was taken into custody, but detectives are asking anyone who has further information to call the Kokomo police department.

Over 525,000 Hoosiers joined two million people across the central United States Tuesday for an earthquake drill. Schools, businesses and homes registered with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security for the "Great ShakeOut in Indiana." The drill was held Tuesday to mark the 200th anniversary of the 1812 New Madrid Earthquakes. Participants learned to drop to the floor, take cover under a table or desk, and hold onto the furniture because it may move due to the vibrations caused by an earthquake. This technique is known as "Drop, cover and hold on."

All Howard County schools are providing a quality education proved by the current graduation rates according to a local superintendent said.
Tracy Caddell, superintendent of the Eastern Howard School Corp., summed up the figures released Tuesday by the Indiana Department of Education. by saying “I’m proud of our teachers and staff,” Caddell said. “But I’m also proud of every school system in Howard County.” Of the 1,007 students who entered the ninth grade at Howard County high schools, the figures show, 899 graduated. That means 89.3 percent of students graduate. It’s a number that doesn’t meet state standards, but Caddell says it shows schools are doing a good job.

The Indiana attorney general’s office says it will object to a legal move by Democrats to put their 2010 secretary of state candidate in office following Republican Secretary of State Charlie White’s conviction on voter fraud charges. Community Foundation of Howard County Prez Retiring

Ron Harper, president of the Community Foundation of Howard County, has announced his plans to retire effective during the second half of the year. Harper joined the Community Foundation of Howard County as president in 1999. In addition to his role serving Howard County, Harper serves as president of the Carroll County Community Foundation and the Clinton County Community Foundation. Prior to joining the Community Foundation, Harper worked in real estate sales and management in Howard County for 18 years and held various positions at Indiana University Kokomo from 1972 to 1981. His career with Indiana University started in Bloomington, Ind., in 1967. The Community Foundation of Howard County, Inc. was formed as a not-for-profit public charity in March 1991. The Foundation seeks to serve donors and make grants to benefit the citizens of Howard County.

City Comes Together To Stand Against Violence

Major Brian Seldon is proud of the way citizens and Kokomo city officials came together on Sunday for the Peace Walk. The walk was in response to the recent shootings which left three injured and two dead.

Seldon says there were about 50 to 100 people who walked down Apperson Way from North Street to Sycamore. Many participants held signs, sang hymns and walked hand-in-hand in a display of solidarity.

Super Bowl Arrests

State excise police say they arrested 218 people in Indianapolis during Super Bowl week, about half for underage drinking.
Plainclothes officers made the arrests in downtown areas such as the Super Bowl Village, the Convention Center and Lucas Oil Stadium from Jan. 29 through Feb. 5. Underage drinkers accounted for 120 of those arrested. The rest were for charges including public intoxication, fake IDs and marijuana possession.
The Department of Public Safety reported 12 arrests on game night. Deputy Police Chief Michael Bates says most were for public intoxication and fighting.

Indianapolis International Airport is experiencing its busiest day ever as Super Bowl visitors head home. "Things went pretty smooth. The taxi pulled right up and we were ready for check in and it's been pretty smooth so far. We got here a little early," said Sean McLarridy, passenger. The airport was processing about 1,000 passengers per hour Monday. The Super Bowl Host Committee staged hundreds of airport volunteers like Lucretia Scammahorn to greet and guide visitors at the airport. "They love our signs. So we have had some great comments today and I think the city should be very proud," she said.

Man Arrested in Tenn. Wanted on Murder Charges in Howard Co

A man wanted on a fugitive warrant for attempted murder and robbery was arrested Sunday on a shoplifting charge. Christopher Scott Crawford, 34, of Kingsport, Tenn., was charged Sunday with misdemeanor larceny, resisting public officers, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to warrants at the Buncombe County magistrate’s office.
He’s accused of stealing paint and other items at the Kmart store on Tunnel Road, according to warrants. Asheville officers discovered Crawford was wanted in Howard County, Indiana, for attempted murder and robbery, according to warrants. He was charged with those crimes on June 14, 2011.

IU Daycare to Close

Parents who used The Little Learners Child Care Center at Indiana University Kokomo, are circulating 12 sheets of signatures they plan to present to school administrators after the announcement that the university plans to close the center June 1.
“If they’re going to close it down, we want to show them how many people are going to be disappointed,” said IU Kokomo student Stephanie Bushard, who sends her 2-year-old daughter to the daycare. Jack Tharp, the university’s chancellor for student affairs, issued a statement Wednesday explaining the university’s decision.
“Our decision is based on several factors, including the changing student profile, space needs, and the fact that the Center is utilized by only 19 out of the nearly 3,200 students enrolled,” Tharp wrote. IU Kokomo subsidizes the daycare for $50,000 per year. Tharp stated the university could “no longer justify” keeping the daycare open.

A fugitive sex offender was arrested February 2 in East Knox County. Jason Shepherd, 30, fled from Kokomo to Knoxville to avoid prosecution for obstruction of justice and two counts of failure to register as a sex offender, according to the Knox County Sheriff's Office.

The march took place yesterday from North Street to Sycamore down Apperson Way to make a stand against violence in the city and to pray for the families of the victims. Police say the 21 year old woman was traveling at a high rate of speed just before 4 a.m. Thursday morning, lost control then flipped her vehicle several times. 49-year-old Steven Newville has been convicted of attempted rape, criminal confinement, battery and receiving stolen property. It took the jury just four hours Thursday afternoon to convict the man. The jury, made up of seven women and five men, did acquit Newville of attempted robbery following the four-day trial. Upon hearing the verdict, the 33-year-old victim smiled and hugged her family and friends. Newville could get up to 50 years in prison on the A felony attempted rape, eight years on the C felony confinement, three years on the D felony receiving stolen property and up to a year on the battery conviction. The habitual enhancement carries a maximum of an additional 30 years in prison.

Indiana House lawmakers are sending a limited statewide ban on smoking to the Senate for consideration. The House voted 61-34 Tuesday afternoon to approve the statewide ban. A 55-year-old Walton man involved in a serious crash was transported to Howard Regional Health System early Tuesday. Mikey Sites suffered massive head and upper body injuries after hitting a semi on U.S. 31. According to the Miami County Sheriff Department, Sites ran a red light on Ind. 18 and traveled into the path of a semi driven by Clarence Michael, 53, Dowagiac, on U.S. 31. The extent of Sites’ injuries is not known. Sites was not wearing his seat belt and was partially ejected through the passenger side windshield, according to police. He was extricated by emergency personnel and then transported to the Kokomo hospital. Officials with the Miami County Sheriff Department said an investigation into the crash continues.

A man charged with two counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder in what authorities say were random shootings near downtown Kokomo has made his initial court appearance. 36-year-old Turama Stitts of Kokomo appeared before a Howard County judge via teleconference on Tuesday. The judge entered a not guilty plea on Stitts’ behalf and appointed a public defender. Stitts was arrested Thursday after four people were shot over two days. Police say 48-year-old Argena Williams died after he was shot Thursday. Police say 64-year-old David Gibson died Friday, two days after he was shot. A probable cause affidavit states a friend of Stitts told police that Stitts was off his medication for several days and was acting strangely before he allegedly shot four people.

The White Jeep Cherokee was stopped for a traffic violation, but the driver decided to run after police attempted a pat down for weapons. 24 year old Deriq Watters of Kokomo was caught and arrested for resisting and also for being a serious violent felon in possession of a firearm. Delphi Automotive’s profits increased to $1.1 billion in 2011, the company reported Thursday. The automotive supplier, which is the parent of Delphi Electronics and Safety in Kokomo, boosted its profits 74 percent from $631 million in 2010. Total revenues for 2011 were $16 billion, which was a 16.1 percent increase from 2010. In the fourth quarter, Delphi brought in $3.9 billion in revenues for a profit of $290 million. Thursday’s earnings report was the first routine one that Delphi has released since it returned to the stock market in November.

Lawmakers caught their breath Thursday on "right to work," but Republicans are working to get the controversial bill on the governor's desk by next Wednesday.
"Right to work" passed out of the House of Representatives on Wednesday. Thursday morning many of the union demonstrators who marched in the hallways of the Indiana Statehouse decided to demonstrate in front of Rep. Jerry Torr's home in Carmel. Plans were already being formulated in the Senate. The body just passed an identical "right to work" bill last week but it will take up the House version in committee on Monday, on second read on Tuesday with a final vote on Wednesday. That means the governor could make it the law by Wednesday night and curb any potential Super Bowl fallout.

Electric Rate Could Increase Over Clean Air Reg

An analysis prepared for the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission predicts new federal clean air regulations will raise electricity rates in this state by about 14% by 2020 because of necessary upgrades to coal-fired power plants. The analysis is from the State Utility Forecasting Group, a state-funded panel of researchers based at Purdue University.
Director Douglas Gotham says Indiana is expected to experience larger price increases than projected on a regional or national level. About 85% of the electricity used in Indiana is generated by coal-fired power plants, compared with about 45% nationwide. Gotham predicts Indiana rates could rise by 34% overall by 2020 when other factors are included such as costs associated with ongoing new plant construction

Grissom Air Reserve Base Security Officer Arrested For Arson

A security officer at Grissom Air Reserve Base and his wife have been arrested by Indiana State Fire Marshal's Office fire investigators and U.S. Air Force investigators in connection with a September fire at their Walton home.

38 year old Benjiman Durr of Walton and his wife, 33 year old Wendy Durr, were arrested on Wednesday. He faces a Class C felony charge of arson while his wife is charged with conspiracy to commit arson. On Sept. 14th, the Durrs' 130-year-old home was destroyed in a fire. Benjiman Durr told a reporter at the scene that he had just left the house to go buy dog food and that his wife and children were visiting relatives out of state. The following week, fire investigators determined the blaze was intentionally set by someone using a liquid accelerant to start the fire in an upstairs library. No other details about the fire were released since the case is still pending.

Man Arrested In Deadly Shooting Rampage

A man has been arrested following a shooting rampage that ended with three injured and one man dead. Kokomo police have arrested 36 year-old, Turama Stitts of Kokomo and charged him with one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder.

The shootings started at around 7:10 PM on January 25th when police found 64 year old David Gibson of Kokomo lying in the street in the 300 block of West Mulberry with a gunshot wound to his head. He remains in critical condition. Yesterday, at around 11:33 AM, police responded to a possible battery victim when they found 48 year old Argena Williams, who also had a gunshot wound to his head. Williams later died from his injuries. About ten minutes later, officers responded to the 400 block of North Purdum where 40 year old Miriam Mallory was found with a gunshot wound to her head. Then, at 1:10 pm, in the 600 block of East Taylor, 51 year old Ricky Patterson was also found shot in the head. There is no word on the condition of the other victims. Stitts was arrested after witnesses provided a description and officers canvassed a four block area. Police believe he acted alone in all of the shootings.

It isn't the first time the NFL has offered tours of the Super Bowl stadium, but for the first time, the league is openly inviting the public to take a behind the scenes look at the transformation of Lucas Oil Stadium. "We introduced stadium tours in Tampa at Super Bowl 43," says Frank Supovitz, the NFL's Vice President of Events. "People have enjoyed it so much that we decided to make it much more available, and we expect literally to see thousands of people come through the stadium over the next week or so."
Supovitz says the tours are an excellent way for fans who don't have a ticket to the game to see the goings on inside the stadium.

Super Bowl Clinic

Indianapolis is the first Super Bowl host city to offer a full-service urgent care center for visitors. The new Super Care Clinic in Union Station is located at 300 South Meridian Street near the Super Bowl Village. The clinic is operated by a coalition of Indianapolis-area healthcare facilities. Physicians and nurses will be available to treat illnesses ranging from coughs and colds to minor injuries. The clinic will be open during peak periods starting Thursday through next week. Throughout Super Bowl weekend, it will be open 24 hours a day.

Anti-Smoking Support

Anti-smoking advocates are touting the results of a new poll in hopes the Indiana General Assembly will pass a statewide workplace smoking ban.
According to the poll of 500 Hoosiers, released Wednesday, 70 percent of Indiana voters support a law that would prohibit smoking in indoor workplaces and public places, including restaurants and bars. The American Heart Association, the American Lung Association and the Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids all associated with the Campaign for Smokefree Air paid for the study.

500 Festival princess

The 500 Festival will begin the two-part selection process to choose 33 young women to represent the 2012 500 Festival and Indianapolis 500® at this year’s events and statewide outreach programs. First-round interviews will be on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 9 a.m. at the Indiana Farm Bureau on East Street in downtown Indianapolis.
The 500 Festival received 274 applications from young women representing 87 Hoosier cities and towns and 24 colleges and universities across the state.
The 500 Festival will narrow the field to 66 finalists who will then return for second-round interviews on Feb. 11 at 8 a.m., when judges will select the final 33 who will serve as ambassadors for the 2012 500 Festival.
Newly selected 2012 500 Festival Princesses will be notified by e-mail after 8 p.m. on Feb. 11. The finalists will be expected to confirm that they accept the honor within five days.

Jim Whited Receives Key To The City By Kokomo Mayor Goodnight

In a surprise ceremony at Jamie's Soda Fountain, Kokomo Mayor Greg Goodnight presented restaurant owner, James Whited, with a Key to the City.

The first Jamie's Soda Fountain opened in the Northwest Plaza in 1982. Since that time it has become a Kokomo institution, with two locations. Mayor Goodnight says You'd be hard-pressed to find someone who has had a bigger impact than Jim Whited on the young men and women in our community. Goodnight pointed out that many of Jamie's employees have gone on to become doctors and lawyers, business owners, nurses and educators. In addition to owning a successful business, Jim has been active in supporting youth baseball by serving as a team manager for many years, and as president of both the Northside and UCT leagues. For fifteen years, he sponsored a team at UCT.

Kokomo Rescue Mission Taking Registrations For Annual Walk

Indy is making it easier for you to pay for a ride to Super Bowl events with fixed rates for taxicab trips that begin or end in the downtown area.
The rates are effective for Super Bowl weekend, February 2nd through 6th. Rates will range from $15 to $50 within Marion County.
The Department of Code Enforcement also announced Tuesday that all licensed taxicab drivers are required to accept credit and debit cards.
